Softball Recap: Monte Vista Gets the Win

Fans were treated to a battle of the Mustangs on Thursday. Monte Vista came out on top against Rodriguez by a score of 10-7. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Monte Vista.

Samantha Kaiman made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits (and not a single walk). Kaiman was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Sophia Leyden, who scored a run while going 2-for-4. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in doubles (two). Lily Parikh was another key player, scoring two runs while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

Monte Vista's record now sits at 2-0.

Monte Vista wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 3-1 defeat against Castro Valley on the 4th. As for Rodriguez, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 7-1 victory against Freedom on the 28th.
