The Federal Way Eagles are taking a road trip to take on the Stadium Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Federal Way took a loss when they played away from home on Wednesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They never let Kent-Meridian get on the board and left with a 12-0 victory. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Royals recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.
Eva Adriano made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits over four innings pitched. Adriano was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
In other batting news, Federal Way let Meeghan Meagher and Caylyn Baxter run wild. Meagher went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs, while Baxter went a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Another player making a difference was Sosephina Sailiai, who went 3-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Federal Way always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .607. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .500 or higher in four consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Stadium). They were the clear victors by a 19-0 margin over Auburn on Friday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Tigers considering their two-run performance the matchup before.
Ella Enciso was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out eight over five innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with four runs, two doubles, and two RBI. Those three hits gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, London Kim and Sarah Yi did most of the damage at the plate: Kim got on base in all three of her plate appearances with one home run, three RBI, and two runs, while Yi went a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, one double, and one RBI. That's the most hits Yi has posted since back in April of 2024. Peyton Matthews also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.
Stadium has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-8 record this season. As for Federal Way, their record is now 6-12.
Federal Way might still be hurting after the 22-4 loss they got from Stadium in their previous matchup back in March of 2024. Can the Eagles avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
