Softball Recap: Hatton's Losing Streak Snapped at Three Games

Hatton's game on Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They walked away with a 7-3 victory over the Rogers Pirates. The win was some much needed relief for the Hornets as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Brianna Oliver spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up six Ks.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Ava Lovelady, who went 1-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Anna Potter, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 3-for-4.

Hatton's victory bumped their record up to 11-18-1. As for Rogers, they dropped their record down to 9-14 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Looking ahead, Hatton will be taking part in a tournament against Ardmore at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Rogers, they will take on Lexington in a tournament on Thursday. The Golden Bears have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.47 runs per game on average), something the Pirates will no doubt try to take advantage of.
