Softball Recap: Sherando Now 6-1 over Last Seven Games

Sherando lost to Skyline back in March, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Friday. The Warriors had just enough and edged out the Hawks 5-3.

Sherando got a great performance from Aubrey Weir as she didn't allow a single earned run over 4.1 innings pitched. Weir has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Sherando saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kendra Chunta, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

Sherando hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Skyline struck out six times.

Sherando has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.1 runs on average over those games. As for Skyline, they dropped their record down to 3-6 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.

Looking ahead, Sherando will head out to challenge Warren County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Warriors are facing the Wildcats at the right time seeing as the Wildcats are stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Skyline, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Millbrook at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Pioneers will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something the Hawks surely won't give up without a fight.
