Recap: St. Mary's Pirates vs. Ellicott Thunderhawks

They walked away with a 58-51 win over Ellicott. For St. Mary's, this counts as revenge for the 88-52 defeat Ellicott walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2023.
St. Mary's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Josh Padrnos, who scored 16 points along with seven rebounds. It was the first time this season that Padrnos scored 15 or more points. Dantee Manuel was another key contributor, scoring 16 points.
Ellicott's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tavon Flewellen, who scored 11 points along with three steals. Another player making a difference was James Bourgeois, who scored 23 points.
St. Mary's victory bumped their record up to 6-11. As for Ellicott, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-18.
St. Mary's will look to defend their home court on Monday against The Vanguard School at 7:00 p.m. The Vanguard School is coming into the contest with seven straight wins on the road, so St. Mary's is out to stop a team with plenty of momentum. As for Ellicott, they will challenge Lamar at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
