Softball Recap: Community Trojans vs. Paris Coyotes
After flying high against Slater last Tuesday, Community came back down to earth. The Community Trojans took a 6-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Paris Coyotes on Wednesday. The Trojans were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Coyotes apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2017.
Jocelyn Curtis spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and three unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up six Ks.
At the plate, Myla Carroll was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with a home run and three RBI.
Community dropped their record down to 2-3 with that defeat, which was their third straight at home. As for Paris, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-2 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Community will head out to face off against Sturgeon at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Paris, they are on the road again on Monday to play Marceline at 5:00 p.m.
