Recap: Ashley Ridge Swamp Foxes vs. George Washington Patriots
The Ashley Ridge Swamp Foxes's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their third straight loss. They lost to George Washington on the road by a decisive 68-51 margin.
Several Swamp Foxes players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Dianna Blake, who scored 20 points along with nine rebounds. The matchup was Blake's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Katie Johnson was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Ashley Ridge has been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-5 record this season. As for George Washington, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-2.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ashley Ridge will take on Beaufort at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Beaufort is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. As for George Washington, they will be playing at home against South Charleston at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. South Charleston will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps West Virginia Rankings (they are ranked 96th, while George Washington is ranked ninth).
