Basketball Recap: Prairie Picks Up Seventh Consecutive Victory

Prairie came tearing into Monday's game with six straight wins and they left with even more momentum. They were the clear victor by an 89-64 margin over the Iowa City Little Hawks. Given the Hawks' advantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked ninth, while the Little Hawks are ranked 152nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Prairie's win bumped their record up to 11-2. As for Iowa City, they have also been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last ten contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-21 record this season.

Prairie will venture away from home to face off against Linn-Mar at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (Linn-Mar has won nine straight at home, while Prairie won five straight on the road), something that'll have to change. Iowa City has already played their next matchup, an 80-56 defeat against Dubuque Senior on the 4th.
