Softball Recap: Barberton Magics vs. Roosevelt Rough Riders
Barberton took a seven-run loss the last time they faced off against Roosevelt, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Magics skirted past the Rough Riders 5-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Magics have posted since March 15, 2024.
Cassie Moore was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. Those hits were her first of the season. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024.
In other batting news, Natalie Snider was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-3. Layla Murrey also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
