Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Armstrong). They put the hurt on the Mechanicsville Mustangs with a sharp 79-56 win on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Wildcats have posted against the Mustangs since January 23, 2018.

Armstrong's win was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 4-8. As for Mechanicsville, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Armstrong won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Glen Allen at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Glen Allen knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past six games -- so hopefully Armstrong likes a good challenge. Mechanicsville has already played their next contest (against Hanover), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
