Basketball Game Preview: Napoleon Wildcats vs. Southview Cougars

Napoleon hasn't had much luck against Southview recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Wildcats challenge the Cougars at 7:15 p.m.

Napoleon is headed into Tuesday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fifth straight game on Saturday. They were dealt a 67-37 defeat at the hands of Archbold. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Wildcats have suffered against the Blue Streaks since January 2, 2018.

Meanwhile, Southview had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 23.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They came out on top against the Eagles by a score of 58-47. Given the Cougars' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 119th, while the Eagles are ranked 331st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Southview's victory bumped their record up to 16-4. As for Napoleon, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-12.

Napoleon suffered a grim 58-37 defeat to Southview when the teams last played back in January. Can Napoleon avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
