Volleyball Game Preview: Ashe County Huskies vs. West Wilkes Blackhawks

The Ashe County Huskies will venture away from home to challenge the West Wilkes Blackhawks at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Thursday, Ashe County made easy work of East Wilkes and carried off a 3-0 victory. The Huskies haven't had any issues with the Cardinals recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

While Ashe County won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. The final score came out to 25-19, 25-23, 25-17.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for West Wilkes, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over Elkin on Thursday.

West Wilkes got the W, but it wasn't easy, at least in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 30-32, 25-15, 25-19, 25-20.

Ashe County's record now sits at 20-7. As for West Wilkes, their record is now 7-8.

Ashe County took their win against West Wilkes when the teams last played back in September by a conclusive 3-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Huskies since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
