Softball Game Preview: Monroe Township Falcons vs. Ewing Blue Devils

The Monroe Township Falcons will venture away from home to challenge the Ewing Blue Devils at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Monroe Township barely beat North Brunswick the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Falcons were the clear victors by a 14-4 margin over the Raiders on Monday. The Falcons haven't had any issues with the Raiders recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Ewing, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They walked away with a 13-8 win over Princeton on Tuesday. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Blue Devils' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.

The team relied heavily on Peyton Hansbury, who went 3-for-4 with four runs, one triple, and two RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Kim Nguyen, who went 2-for-3 with two runs.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Ewing kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

The victory was their first at home, bumping their record up to 4-9. As for Monroe Township, their record now sits at 4-10.

Monroe Township couldn't quite get it done against Ewing in their previous matchup back in April of 2023 as they fell 8-5. Can the Falcons avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
