Volleyball Recap: West Catholic Comes Up Short

If West Catholic was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Union on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Falcons took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the South Christian Sailors on Thursday. The Falcons have struggled against the Sailors recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-9, 21-25, 25-10.

West Catholic's loss dropped their record down to 11-13-4. As for South Christian, they are on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 14 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-8 record this season.

West Catholic and South Christian should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Michigan Rankings. The Falcons (ranked 126th) will meet Wayland (ranked 371st) at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, South Christian will challenge Union at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank advantage (36 vs. 642).
