Volleyball Recap: Neshoba Central Takes a Loss

Neshoba Central was the 3-0 winner over West Lauderdale when they last played one another back in October of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Rockets fell just short of the Knights by a score of 2-1 on Saturday. While the Rockets didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Knights 25-14 in the first set.

Neshoba Central started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. The final score came out to 14-25, 25-18, 15-11.

West Lauderdale was led to victory by Kennedy Hicks and Kalie Miller. Hicks had 15 digs and two assists, while Miller had 14 assists. With that strong performance, Miller is now averaging an impressive 12.1 assists per game.

This is the second loss in a row for Neshoba Central and nudges their season record down to 11-4-1. As for West Lauderdale, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-4-1 record this season.

Coincidentally, Neshoba Central and West Lauderdale will both be playing Pearl the next time they take the court. The Knights will head out to face the Pirates at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, while the Rockets will play them later in the day, at 1:00 p.m.
