Basketball Recap: Connell Comes Up Short

Connell lost against Kiona-Benton back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Connell Eagles fell 55-42 to the Kiona-Benton Bears. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Addison Messner had a dynamite game for Kiona-Benton, almost dropping a double-double on 19 points and nine rebounds. Those 19 points gave Messner a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kiwi Franco, who posted eight points and three steals.

Connell's defeat dropped their record down to 6-15. As for Kiona-Benton, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-12.

Connell does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Kiona-Benton, they will challenge Zillah at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Zillah's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last six matches.
