Philip Barbour had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 12-run drubbing they dealt Tucker County on Thursday. The Colts never let the Mountain Lions get on the board and left with a 12-0 win. Considering the Colts have won eight matches by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Cameron Bennett looked comfortable as he struck out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk).

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Nick Gonzales, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. Another player making a difference was Grant Harris, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Philip Barbour hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least three batters in three consecutive contests.

Philip Barbour pushed their record up to 17-2 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Tucker County, they are on a 14-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-13.

Coming up, Philip Barbour will head out on the road to take on Keyser at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Tucker County, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Pendleton County at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Wildcat have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.06 runs per game on average), something the Mountain Lions will no doubt try to take advantage of.
