Soccer Recap: Coral Shores Proves Higher State Rank Is No Mistake

Coral Shores won the last time they faced Monsignor Pace and things went their way on Monday too. The Coral Shores Hurricanes never let the Monsignor Pace Spartans onto the board and left with a 5-0 victory. Given the Hurricanes' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked 171st, while the Spartans are ranked 510th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Coral Shores pushed their record up to 6-1 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 15 goals over those three contests. As for Monsignor Pace, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Coral Shores will take on Immaculata-La Salle in a holiday battle at at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Monsignor Pace, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Goleman at 3:30 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
