Soccer Game Preview: Dixon vs. Croatan

The Dixon Bulldogs will face off against the Croatan Cougars on Thursday. Dixon will be looking to extend their current 16-game winning streak.

Dixon is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 6-0 margin over North Brunswick. Dixon might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten matchups by three goals or more this season.

Their offense was hitting North Brunswick from everywhere, as five different players booted in a goal. Aileen Lowman led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by herself.

Meanwhile, Croatan's game on Monday was all tied up 1-1 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They won by a goal and slipped past Fike 3-2.

Dixon pushed their record up to 16-2-1 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 28 goals over those eight games. As for Croatan, their victory bumped their record up to 9-6-7.

Dixon skirted past Croatan 1-0 when the teams last played two weeks ago. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bulldogs since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
