Recap: Lake Belton Broncos vs. Midlothian Panthers
After a string of five wins, The Lake Belton Broncos''s good fortune finally ran out on Friday. Their tough 49-28 loss to Midlothian might stick with them for a while. Lake Belton lost against Midlothian in their previous head to head back in October of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 39-37 score last time.
Lake Belton's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Micah Hudson, who picked up 146 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Hudson is on a roll when it comes to receiving yards, as he's now posted 100 or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Elijah Mascarenas, who threw for 173 yards and two touchdowns.
Michael Garber was on fire for Midlothian: he rushed for 218 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 9.9 yards per carry. Garber was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 61 yards. Colin Shannon was another key contributor, throwing for 117 yards and two touchdowns on only seven passes.
Lake Belton's loss dropped their record down to 7-2. As for Midlothian, their win was their third straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 7-1.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Ellison the next time they take the field. Midlothian will host Ellison at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, while Lake Belton will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on November 3rd.
