Basketball Recap: Fort Dodge Takes a Loss

After flying high against Des Moines North last Friday, Fort Dodge came back down to earth. The Fort Dodge Dodgers fell just short of the Roosevelt Roughriders by a score of 51-48 on Tuesday. The loss continues a trend for the Dodgers in their matchups with the Roughriders: they've now lost seven in a row.

Fort Dodge's defeat dropped their record down to 8-14. As for Roosevelt, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-7.

Coming up, Fort Dodge will look to defend their home court on February 19th against Storm Lake. Storm Lake knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four matches -- so hopefully Fort Dodge likes a good challenge. As for Roosevelt, they have already played their next game, a 68-35 loss against Waukee on the 14th.
