Creekside hadn't done well against Oakleaf recently (they were 0-7 in their previous seven matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. Creekside had just enough and edged out Oakleaf 5-3. This was payback for Creekside, who suffered a 4-1 loss the last time these two teams met.

Carly Dall spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on eight hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 11 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Maddie Hollis was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Those two RBI gave her a new career-high. Madison Muniz also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Creekside has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.5 runs on average over those games. As for Oakleaf, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 9-12 record.

Looking ahead, Creekside will venture away from home to face off against Baldwin at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. The Indians' pitching crew has only allowed 3.2 runs per game this season, so the Knights' hitters will have their work cut out for them. Oakleaf does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
