Football Game Preview: St. Brendan Sabres vs. Central Rockets

After each having a week off, the St. Brendan Sabres and the Central Rockets will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: St. Brendan has struggled recently with five defeats in a row, while Central will arrive with five straight victories.

St. Brendan managed to slip by Gulliver Prep the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Sabres had to suffer through a 42-0 loss at the hands of the Raiders.

Meanwhile, Central strolled past Carol City with points to spare last Thursday, taking the game 23-6. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Rockets' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked fifth, while the Chiefs are ranked 176th).

Central's win bumped their record up to 8-1. As for St. Brendan, their loss dropped their record down to 4-6.

St. Brendan took a serious blow against Central in their previous matchup back in November of 2022, falling 60-0. Thankfully for the Sabres, Nicholas Mccall (who rushed for 73 yards and one touchdown, and also caught one score) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
