Basketball Recap: Twiggs Academy Comes Up Short

Twiggs Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 12th straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 68-44 to St. George. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Trojans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 69-27 back in November.

St. George's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Davis Helms, who posted 21 points. The matchup was Helms' fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Westley Matlock-Carter, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds.

Twiggs Academy's loss dropped their record down to 0-7. As for St. George's, they pushed their record up to 6-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Twiggs Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 64-41 defeat against Flint River Academy on the 12th. As for St. George's, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 58-42 loss against Heritage Preparatory on the 12th.
