Volleyball Recap: Hillcrest Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Hillcrest and Wasatch squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Hillcrest had to settle for second. They came up short against the Wasps, falling 3-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Huskies of the 3-2 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in August of 2022.

Hillcrest was not able to win a set, but it sure wasn't from a lack of trying: every set was decided by three points or less. The final score came out to 26-24, 25-22, 25-23.

Despite the defeat, Hillcrest had strong showings from Kelly Thai, who had 15 assists and three aces, and Imani Flores, who had eight digs.

Hillcrest has also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 14-14 record this season. As for Wasatch, they pushed their record up to 17-11 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.

Hillcrest does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Wasatch, they have already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against Pleasant Grove on the 29th.
