Recap: Crisp County Cougars vs. Wilcox County Patriots

The Crisp County Cougars's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight defeat. They fell 66-54 to Wilcox County. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Crisp County in their matchups with the Patriots: they've now lost three in a row.

Several Cougars players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jaylon Cooper, who scored 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Courtney Oliver 4, who scored ten points along with two steals.

Wilcox County was led to victory by Alonzo Benjamin and Londarius King. Benjamin scored 13 points along with six rebounds, while King dropped a double-double on 18 points and 13 rebounds. King hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for five straight games. Aundre Benjamin was another key contributor, scoring eight points.

Crisp County has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-10 record this season. As for Wilcox County, their win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-10.

Crisp County will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against the Trojans at 7:30 p.m. on January 26th. Dougherty is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last three games. As for Wilcox County, they will stay at home for another game and welcome the Bobcats at 6:00 p.m. on January 27th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Georgia (Dooly County is ranked 351st, while the Patriots are ranked 360th).
