Football Game Preview: Westover Patriots vs. Dougherty Trojans + How To Watch

The Westover Patriots will take on the Dougherty Trojans at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Westover will be strutting in after a victory while Dougherty will be coming in after a loss.

On Friday, Westover got the win against Monroe by a conclusive 42-21. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Patriots.

Westover found their leader in sophomore Gabriel Hooper, who rushed for 41 yards and three touchdowns, and also threw for 124 yards and one TD on perfect 8-for-8 passing. Mikhail Simmons made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.

Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Westover proved: they limited Monroe to a paltry 3.4 yards per carry. The team can thank Jordan Lassiter for the heroic effort on defense: he. Westover didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 6.3.

Westover's win bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Dougherty, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-6.
