Football Game Preview: Winside Wildcats vs. Walthill Blujays

Winside is a perfect 5-0 against Walthill since August of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Wildcats will head out to take on the Blujays at 3:00 p.m. Winside has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 145 points over their last three games.

It was a proper cat-fight when Winside faced off against Lyons-Decatur Northeast on Friday. The Wildcats came out on top against the Cougars by a score of 39-28.

It was another big night for Jayden Aschoff, who threw for 195 yards and five touchdowns while completing 77.3% of his passes. Those five passing touchdowns gave him a new career-high. Jahiem Hamik also helped with two TDs in total.

Meanwhile, Walthill played a tough contest on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt a 58-12 defeat at the hands of Bancroft-Rosalie. The last quarter was a mere formality, since the game's final score was reached by the end of the third quarter.

Winside's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Walthill, their loss dropped their record down to 0-4.

Everything came up roses for Winside against Walthill when the teams last played back in September of 2024, as the team secured a 56-22 victory. In that matchup, the Wildcats amassed a halftime lead of 44-6, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
