It was a good run, but Great Oak unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Wednesday. They fell just short of the Temecula Valley Golden Bears by a score of 5-4. The Wolfpack were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Golden Bears earlier this season, when they won 1-0.

Great Oak got a good showing from Riley Kronenfeld, who didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over four innings pitched. Kronenfeld has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Gavin Fien was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Jaxon Valenzuela, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and two RBI.

Great Oak's loss dropped their record down to 10-14. As for Temecula Valley, their victory bumped their record up to 13-10.

While Great Oak had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
