Vance County typically has all the answers at home, but on Monday East Wake proved too difficult a challenge. They had just enough and edged out the Vipers 3-2. The win was all the more spectacular given East Wake's disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 397th, while Vance County are ranked 169th).

East Wake's victory ended a three-match drought on the road and puts them at 5-17-1. As for Vance County, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 15-7-1 record this season.
