Basketball Game Preview: Greenwood Indians vs. Loyal Greyhounds

The Greenwood Indians will face off against the Loyal Greyhounds at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Greenwood is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.

Greenwood lost 61-39 to Gilman on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Loyal won against Athens on Friday with 53 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Tuesday. Loyal pulled ahead with a 53-52 photo finish over Neillsville. Given the Greyhounds' advantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 154th, while the Warriors are ranked 327th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Greenwood's loss dropped their record down to 3-13. As for Loyal, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-4.

Greenwood was taken down by Loyal 57-30 in their previous matchup back in February of 2024. Can Greenwood avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
