Baseball Game Preview: Liberty Christian Lions vs. Muncie Burris Owls

Liberty Christian hasn't had much luck against Muncie Burris recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Lions will take on the Owls at 5:00 p.m. Liberty Christian has given up an average of 15 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Liberty Christian saw some tournament action on Thursday. They came up short against Madison-Grant, falling 16-2. The Lions have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, it was close, but on Monday Muncie Burris sidestepped Randolph Southern for a 5-4 victory.

Muncie Burris saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Beau Edmonds, who went 2-for-3 with one triple and one run. That run marked the first that Edmonds has scored this season. Solomon Muliiira was another, going 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Muncie Burris' record is now 2-6. As for Liberty Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.

Liberty Christian's speedy runners might be the difference in Tuesday's matchup. The Lions have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 5 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Muncie Burris, though, as they've been averaging only 0.8 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Liberty Christian continue to outrun the ball?

Liberty Christian suffered a grim 19-6 defeat to Muncie Burris in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can the Lions avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
