Owen Brunni posted a new career-high in strikeouts on Monday. He struck out ten batters over 6.2 innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits (and not a single walk), good enough for us to rate the performance as the best he's had all season long. He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Everett is 3-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 3-9 otherwise.

Brunni's strong effort led Everett over Monroe and he'll get a chance to do so again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
