Basketball Recap: Daniel Piles Up the Points Against Berea

Daniel had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 30.7 points) and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They really took it to the Berea Bulldogs for the full four quarters, racking up a 91-27 victory. The Lions have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine matches by 20 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Daniel to victory, but perhaps none more so than Lila Mann, who went 9 of 12 on her way to 20 points and five steals. Mann continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Braelin Cumbie, who went 7 for 10 en route to 19 points and three steals.

Daniel has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 17-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.5 points per game. As for Berea, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-14.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Daniel will challenge Pickens at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Daniel is facing Pickens at the right time seeing as Pickens is stuck on a ten-game losing streak. Berea has already played their next contest (against Blue Ridge), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
