Soccer Recap: Murrah Comes Up Short

Murrah was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss. They fell 2-0 to the Starkville Yellowjackets. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against Starkville this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 6-0 back in December of 2025.

Murrah's defeat dropped their record down to 3-12. As for Starkville, they moved to 5-11-1 with that victory, which also ended their four-match losing streak.

Murrah and Starkville could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Mississippi Rankings. The Mustangs will challenge Oxford at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday with a big rank disadvantage (75 vs. 5). Meanwhile, Starkville (ranked 42nd) will meet Clinton (ranked fourth) at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
