Football Recap: Greencastle Tiger Cubs vs. Linton-Stockton Miners
Greencastle and Linton-Stockton squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Greencastle had to settle for second. They had to suffer through a 46-10 loss at the hands of the Miners. The game marked the Tiger Cubs' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.
Cole Stephens threw for 236 yards and one touchdown. Owen Sorrels was his top target, picking up 57 receiving yards.
Linton-Stockton had a senior duo take command as Paul Oliver rushed for 150 yards and a pair of scores on only eight carries and Cooper Smith gained 124 total yards and three touchdowns. Smith also set a new season-high mark in rushing yards with 116.
Greencastle's loss dropped their record down to 5-6. As for Linton-Stockton, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season.
Greencastle does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Linton-Stockton, they will be playing at home against Sullivan at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Miners will need to watch out since the Golden Arrows have now posted at least 31 points in their last three games.
