The Laney Buccaneers will take on the Jordan Falcons on Friday. Laney will be looking to extend their current 18-game winning streak.
Laney is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Ashley with a sharp 10-4 victory. The result was nothing new for the Buccaneers, who have now won ten contests by six runs or more so far this season.

TJ Ziermann made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out ten batters over 5.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 11 consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Carston Wedemeyer, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Evan Skobel, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI.
Wakefield typically has all the answers at home, but on Tuesday Jordan proved too difficult a challenge. They walked away with a 3-0 win over the Wolverines. The Falcons haven't had any issues with the Wolverines recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.
The result came thanks to Luke Samples's shutout, as he gave up just a hit and racked up nine Ks.
On the hitting side, Logan Greene was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and two RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March.
Laney's win was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 22-4. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Jordan, their record now sits at 18-7.
Both Laney and Jordan just can't seem to miss. The Buccaneers have been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 8.7 hits per game. However, it's not like Jordan struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 5.3 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Laney beat Jordan 5-2 in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Do the Buccaneers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Falcons turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
