Basketball Recap: Rittman Comes Up Short

Rittman lost against Black River back in December of 2022 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Rittman Indians fell 58-51 to the Black River Pirates. The Indians' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it three in a row.

Black River's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Josh Stuart, who went 7 for 13 on his way to 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Hunter Varney, who went 5 of 9 en route to 14 points and seven assists.

Rittman's loss dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Black River, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Rittman will challenge New London at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Rittman is facing New London at the right time seeing as New London is stuck on a seven-game losing streak. As for Black River, they will face off against Brookside at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
