Softball Recap: Washingtonville Comes Up Short

Washingtonville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against the Cornwall Central Dragons, falling 15-3. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Dragons this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 15-0 back in April.

Washingtonville's defeat dropped their record down to 1-14. As for Cornwall Central, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-9.

Washingtonville and Cornwall Central could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps New York Rankings. The Wizards (ranked 539th) will meet Minisink Valley (ranked 66th) at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Cornwall Central will square off against Goshen Central at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank disadvantage (425 vs. 165).
