Volleyball Recap: Presbyterian Christian Bobcats vs. Jackson Prep Patriots

If Presbyterian Christian was riding high off their 3-0 takedown of Pass Christian last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Presbyterian Christian Bobcats fell just short of the Jackson Prep Patriots by a score of 3-2 on Thursday. The Bobcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Patriots apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in August.

Presbyterian Christian actually scored more points across those five sets (105-102), but sadly they still had to settle for second. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 14-25, 23-25, 25-21, 15-11.

Kayden Mangum and Milly Blair certainly did their best on Thursday to avoid the loss. Mangum had 20 digs, while Blair had 13 digs. Mangum is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in the last four games she's played dating back to last season.

Carson Mallard had a dynamite game for Jackson Prep, getting 29 digs.

Presbyterian Christian's loss dropped their record down to 13-9. As for Jackson Prep, they pushed their record up to 12-6 with that win, which was their third straight at home.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Presbyterian Christian will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Jackson Academy at 6:30 p.m. As for Jackson Prep, they will head out to face off against Hartfield Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
