Football Recap: Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory Takes a Loss

Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 12th straight loss dating back to last season. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 6-0 heartbreaker at the hands of the Burton Pumas. While losing is never fun, the Fightin' Irish can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 612th, while the Pumas are ranked 126th).

Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory's defeat dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Burton, they pushed their record up to 7-0 with the victory, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory will take on Sacred Heart Prep at 4:45 p.m. on Monday. The Gators' defense has only allowed 6.8 points per game this season, so the Fightin' Irish's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Burton, they will face off against University at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
