Basketball Recap: Cordova Comes Up Short

Cordova lost against Sulligent back in November of 2018, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Cordova Blue Devils wound up with the same score they had in their last game (49-37), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time.

Loss or not, Cordova got some senior leadership from Ali Simon and Shelby Black. Simon almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine boards, while Black posted seven points and six boards. Simon has been hot recently, having posted nine or more rebounds the last four times she's played.

Cordova now has a losing record at 4-5. As for Sulligent, they pushed their record up to 4-2 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season.

Cordova and Sulligent should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Alabama Rankings. Cordova (ranked 177th) will meet Oakman (ranked 391st) at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Similarly, Sulligent (ranked 63rd) will meet Red Bay (ranked 258th) at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
