Recap: Lucas Cubs vs. Elgin Comets
Make it eight blowout wins for the Lucas Cubs this season. They claimed a resounding 72-29 win over Elgin at home. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 38-15.
Logan Toms was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 24 points and 11 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Aidan Culler, who scored 16 points along with seven rebounds.
Lucas pushed their record up to 11-3 with that win, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season. They've been dominating during the matchups in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 28.9 points. As for Elgin, they are on a eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-12.
Lucas will head out on the road to square off against the Redbirds at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Elgin, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Rams at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Upper Scioto Valley is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last six games.
