Basketball Recap: San Lorenzo Valley Comes Up Short

San Lorenzo Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 13th straight defeat. They were outmatched by the Soquel Knights and fell 82-27. The Cougars were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 39-9.

Soquel's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Nolen Westfall led the charge by going 6 for 11 on his way to 14 points and seven steals. The dominant performance gave Westfall a new career-high in steals. Tyler Harway was another key player, going 6 of 12 en route to 15 points and five assists.

San Lorenzo Valley's loss dropped their record down to 4-14. As for Soquel, the win got them back to even at 10-10.

San Lorenzo Valley will take on Aptos at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Aptos will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something San Lorenzo Valley surely won't give up without a fight. Soquel has already played their next contest (against Santa Cruz), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
