Mattoon won the last time they faced Taylorville and things went their way on Saturday too. The Greenwave put the hurt on the Tornadoes with a sharp 9-2 win. That's two games straight that the Greenwave have won by exactly seven runs.

Mattoon got a great performance from Jackson Horst as he pitched six innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Dallas Morton, who went 1-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Zander Piper, who went 1-for-2 with two runs.

The victory made it two in a row for Mattoon and bumps their season record up to 13-11. The team dominated over those games too, winning by an average of 7 runs. As for Taylorville, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-6.
