Baseball Recap: Adrian Find Success

Adrian came out on top against Pinckney on Monday thanks in part to the team's impressive seven-run fifth inning. The Maples took their game against the Pirates 8-4. The Maples haven't had any issues with the Pirates recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Joelden Griffin spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered four earned runs on eight hits and racked up seven Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Tyler Bruggeman, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs, two RBI, and one double. He is becoming a predictor of Adrian's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 8-1 (and 4-8 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Solomon Hiatt, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one double.

Adrian's victory bumped their record up to 12-9. As for Pinckney, their loss dropped their record down to 14-7.

Adrian will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Pirates: the pair will be back at it again later today.
