Baseball Recap: Kingston Gets the Win

Kingston won the last time they faced Olympic and things went their way on Thursday too. The Buccaneers had just enough and edged out the Trojans 4-3. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Buccaneers.

Vaka Tameilau made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run over 4.2 innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Kingston is 3-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 4-8 otherwise. Tameilau was also big at the plate, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with two runs.

Tameilau wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Ethan Hackett, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI. Those three RBI gave Hackett a new career-high.

Kingston's victory bumped their record up to 7-9. As for Olympic, their loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-8.

Looking ahead, Kingston will head out on the road to face off against Port Angeles at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The Roughriders' pitching crew has only allowed 3.1 runs per game this season, so the Buccaneers' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Olympic, they will welcome Shelton at 4:15 p.m. on Friday.
