Basketball Game Preview: La Habra Highlanders vs. Foothill Knights

The La Habra Highlanders will head out on the road to face off against the Foothill Knights at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in La Habra's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last five matches.

La Habra is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Canyon just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Friday. They took an 81-64 bruising from the Comanches. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Tuesday (56), the Highlanders still had to take the loss.

Meanwhile, Foothill was just a bucket shy of victory on Friday and fell 61-60 to Crean Lutheran. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Knights came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 123rd, while the Saints are ranked 254th).

Foothill's loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-7. As for La Habra, their defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 18-5.

La Habra came up short against Foothill in their previous meeting back in November of 2023, falling 51-38. Can La Habra avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
