Basketball Recap: McClymonds Warriors vs. Oakland Wildcats
McClymonds and Oakland squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but McClymonds had to settle for second. The contest between the McClymonds Warriors and the Oakland Wildcats didn't end well, with the McClymonds Warriors falling 54-37. While losing is never fun, the Warriors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 497th, while the Wildcats are ranked 68th).
Oakland got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Romyn Waugh out in front who dropped a double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds. What's more, Waugh also posted a 50% three-point shooting accuracy, which is the highest he's achieved since back in December of 2024. Rohm Neal was another key player, putting up 12 points along with six boards and three steals.
McClymonds' loss dropped their record down to 10-16. As for Oakland, they have been performing well recently as they've won 15 of their last 18 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-7 record this season.
McClymonds does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Oakland, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 77-33 victory against Leadership on the 22nd.
