Softball Recap: Delaware Valley Wins Going Away Against Scranton

Delaware Valley won the last time they faced Scranton and things went their way on Saturday too. The Warriors blew past the Knights 11-2. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Warriors.

Holly Olcott made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out nine over seven innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.

In other batting news, Delaware Valley got a massive performance out of Gabriella Stahlmann, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run and five RBI. Those five RBI gave Stahlmann a new career-high. Jordan Dickerson was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double.

Delaware Valley was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .472. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Delaware Valley's record now sits at 11-6. As for Scranton, their defeat was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-14.

Looking ahead, Delaware Valley will welcome North Pocono at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Warriors' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Trojans have averaged an impressive 8.9 runs per game this season. As for Scranton, they will head out to face off against Scranton Prep at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Knights are facing the Cavaliers at the right time seeing as the Cavaliers are stuck on a four-game losing streak.
